Google Keyword Research: How to Get Noticed by Google!
When it comes to getting your website some traffic, one of the most important tools you’re going to need is a keyword tool. Google, of all search engines, has the largest number of users. There are actually two ways you can get a lot of traffic from Google. The first way is organically. The second method to get a lot of traffic from Google is through Google Adwords. You could also use both methods to get the most amount of leverage and the highest possible amount of traffic. Whatever method you decide is the best for you, you’re going to need good Google keyword research.
What is an organic listing?
When a user searches a certain keyword or keyword phrase into Google, the sites which show up on the left hand side are referred to as organic listings. There is a combination of factors that determine which sites get the top spots for the keyword or keyword phrase. Google is pretty tight lipped about the specifics. However, there are certain characteristics that many of the top search results for any particular keyword share:
- Age of domain-The older the site, the more trust Google has for the site
- Number of backlinks-The more backlinks the site has, the higher the site gets ranked
- Number of authority site links-If the site has high authority sites linking to it, it will get ranked highly.
- On page SEO-The site should have relevant content related to what the searcher put in the box.
As you can see, it can be hard to get your site ranked well, especially for competitive keywords and keyword phrases. This is why Google keyword research is so important. The best thing to do is find keywords that get a decent amount of searches but don’t have a lot of competition.
There are some free tools out there to do Google keyword research. However, most of them won’t expose the hidden goldmines of low competition but well searched keyword phrases. It’s best if you can find a tool that will help to expose these keywords. So long as your page has content that uses the keyword a few times and is optimized for that keyword your site will be highly indexed.
Getting traffic through Google Adwords
The results on the right hand side of a search are paid ads. Anyone can buy ads from Google to have them displayed. You bid on the keywords that you believe people who would be interested in your site would search for. Then you create an ad. When someone does a search for your keyword and click on your ad, you have to pay Google the amount of money that you bid on for that particular keyword.
While Google Adwords is the easiest way to get traffic, it can also be very expensive. The competitive keywords often cost a lot of money per click. That’s because you are up against people or companies that have a lot of money to spend on Google Adwords. When it comes to Google Adwords it can be hit and miss.
Most of the advertisers who have been around for a while know what keywords are profitable and have dumped the ones which were only costing them money and not making it. Most of them have done this by trial and error. As you can imagine you can waste a lot of money by either bidding on keywords that are too competitive or by bidding on keywords that get clicks but don’t convert into sales.
You don’t have to be at the mercy of trial and error. There is amazing Google keyword research software out there that will actually allow you to legally steal the competition’s most profitable keywords. This software will allow you to bid on low cost, but highly profitable keywords.
